Iceland, 2017
Guess who's back, back again? Sigh. I wish I could afford to do Iceland the way so many Instagrammers and professionals can. Renting a car, travelling around at will, staying in small guesthouses and getting up at sunrise to get the best light. Sadly, I don't have the budget or partner for this so this was a last minute "deal" we couldn't pass up. In retrospect, perhaps we should have because it was a great big rip-off. Don't fall for January deals! I'm not going to get miserable on my own website but feel free to hit me up to hear all about it. ;)
After a few of us got electrocuted by the fence and battling the sleet blizzard, I managed this photo of this friendly dude. It was only an unscheduled 5 minute stop on the way back home.

Words cannot express how bitterly cold and wet and massively windy this was. And I lived in Northern Ontario for years. It's one of the few times I've been grateful for that.
Whilst the sliders left something to be desired (doesn't all aeroplane food?) my first true love is Appelsín.

Our friend invited us out to see these guys at Hard Rock Cafe Reykavík. A Beatles coverband called Helter Skelter. It was an all right way to spend yet another night where the Northern Lights boat tour was cancelled due to weather.
This is what the majority of the tour looked like. Cool, huh? Especially for a Canadian who sees this all winter anyway.

The worst part of the tour is how the guide kept saying, "If this was summer, the view would be so beautiful!" Like, gee, great. I'm glad I'm spending 8 hours on something that is 100% better in summer. This spot particularly was insanely cold and icy. Almost got blown off the cliff, lol. The lower path that allows for better views was closed due to the weather.
Most of the tour didn't even want to go here it was so cold.
The only warmth to be had was if you were a bacterium.
