Nashville, USA, 2016
It's one helluva place. Even if you're not into country music (and I'm not), there's bound to be a bar or band to see somewhere. Just make to save up for Uber cos this is one big, spread out city. We spent a lot of time chilling out in East Nashville--and this is the up-and-coming area of the city. Visit whilst you still can, while it still has it's original flavour. Soon it'll be just like Brooklyn or Shoreditch, I guarantee it. But if you're looking for fun, drunken, country-themed party time, Honky Tonk Row is for you.

In case you weren't clear, this is officially Music City.
Butler's Run is a passageway in downtown Nashville named after a dog named Butler in order to make sure that, no matter the development, a path to the river would always exist for people (and animals).
You can buy whatever overpriced country-themed souveniers you want on Broadway. And I'll be honest, I did buy a pair of cowboy boots too. (But come on, they were good boots at a great price!) And also, I went off-Broadway.
This has been one of my favourite shots with my Tokina 11-20mm at a music event. I love musicians who ham it up for cameras!
It's Deacon's house! If you watch Nashville, you'll know what I'm talking about. And we totally didn't plan it but it was literally one block over from where we were staying.

Jerry Jacobs of the Jerry Jacobs Band sings his heart out at The Stage on Broadway. There was a lot of tequila involved in this night and we spent the night wandering through so many bars on Honky Tonk Row, but this was the best show we saw that night.

We stayed in East Nashville. It's the best part of Nashville, let's be honest. It's still real enough to have character and far enough from downtown to avoid all the hen do's and bachelor parties. There's also less country music and more rock, which is refreshing.

Shooting the Jerry Jacobs Band was such a pleasure! 10/10, would shoot again.
Over at the 5 Spot, Heath Haynes & the Hi-Dollars were doing a "teenage" theme night where every song had the word teenage in it! East Nash is the place to be.
No girls holiday would be complete without a family-style meal. Lucky for us, we came prepared for Canadian Thanksgiving!
